EMI passporting checker
Can a given e-money institution legally operate in your country? Search any institution on the register and see its passporting notifications - 8,279 passporting links read from the EBA EUCLID and FCA registers and re-synced every day. The public registers hold this data, but make it painful to query; this tool answers in two clicks.
Based on passporting notifications in the EBA and FCA registers as of the last daily sync. A missing notification means none is on record - always confirm with the home-state regulator before relying on it.
Most passported-into markets

Frequently asked questions
- What is EMI passporting?
- An e-money institution authorised in one EEA state can notify its home regulator that it wants to provide services in other EEA states - the 'passport'. One licence then covers up to all 30 EEA countries without separate national authorisations. The notifications are recorded in the EBA's EUCLID register, which this checker reads.
- Can a UK EMI passport into the EU?
- No. Since Brexit a UK (FCA) licence covers the United Kingdom only. UK groups that want EEA reach hold a second licence in an EU state - Lithuania and Ireland are the most common choices.
- Can a small EMI passport?
- No. Small or registered EMI regimes are strictly domestic - the lighter registration cannot be passported. Only a fully authorised EMI can notify cross-border services.
- How fresh is this data?
- The underlying register is re-synced every day against the EBA EUCLID register and the FCA register. A notification that a regulator has recorded appears here after the next daily sync.
